Children's Theatre
Overview
Children’s Theatre Production Camp (CTPC)
All the world’s a stage! CTPC runs all summer long with production-based camps, where our youngest performers up to oldest and most seasoned, get to experience the thrill of putting on a full-length musical! Whether your child is a beginner exploring acting for the first time, or a more seasoned performer looking to gain deeper experience from trained professionals, campers will find dynamic experiences, grow self-confidence, and feel the thrill of performing!
Campers will work to develop their imagination, concentration, character, professionalism, and technique, while strengthening command of their body and voice in this supportive environment grounded in Jewish values. For both production-based camps, auditions are a part of the process, and every child will receive a role in the production. Led by Adrienne Bergeron, our professional staff, and select Artists in Residence, an undeniable, unforgettable experience awaits!
CTPC Kids
Grades 1-2
June 24-July 19 (Weeks 1-4)
Just like our recent CTPC Kids winter production of Frog and Toad Kids, we are excited to add this beginning level of production based musical theatre to our summer camp offerings! While learning the basics, such as dancing and singing together as a group, counting music, choreography retention, and simplified blocking, CTPC Kids campers will also delve into the exciting world of putting on a production with basic lighting, costumes, props. We look forward to presenting this musical production in a smaller, more intimate space on the JCC campus that will set our youngest performers up for success!
CPTC Jr.
Grades 3-8
July 22 – August 16 (Weeks 5-8)
It’s showtime! On the heels of CTPC’s recent production of Matilda Jr, this summer, campers take to the Gordon Center stage in another stunning Broadway style musical: Legally Blonde Jr! A fast paced, yet welcoming environment, CTPC Mainstage is a continuation from CTPC Kids in which Jr programming also offers children to learn the ins and outs of putting on a full length musical. At this heightened level, stage blocking, choreography, and vocals are all more complex in execution. We also continue training within character development, vocal techniques, and script analysis. We will work to uncover each camper’s strength and create a positive atmosphere that bolsters self-esteem, compassion, teamwork, and a love for theatre.
