J Camps, located at the JCC of Greater Baltimore, is looking for energetic, dedicated staff members who are interested in working in a fun, creative camp environment this summer. Our programming has a variety of focuses including aquatics, arts & culture, athletics, nature, science and more with a foundation of Judaism. In addition, our training includes child development workshops, skill sharing, and certification in Basic Water Safety and CPR. We hire on a rolling basis. Our main summer season is June 26 – August 18, 2023, and we offer excellent camper discounts for summer staff. The J Camps Baltimore Team is seeking a passionate leader to serve as the Middle School Camp Director for our popular program Top Notch Teens (TNT). Under the leadership of the Senior Director of Operations, this position will manage day-to-day communications and assist with developing the creative direction of the TNT volunteer and Day camp program. This will include, management of TNT staff schedules, placements in younger bunks, Day camp schedule, afternoon electives and workshops, special events and field trips.
The J Camps Baltimore Team is seeking a passionate leader to serve as the Counselor in Training (CIT) Director for our popular camp leadership program. Under the leadership of our 4Front Teen initiation staff and the Senior Director of J Camps, this position will manage day-to-day communications and assist with developing the creative direction of the CIT camp program. This will include management of CIT participant schedules, CIT leadership programming, providing feedback and support to the CIT’s, special events and field trips, and other daily camp routines.
The J Camps Baltimore Team is seeking a dynamic music and song leader to facilitate sessions during daily music activities and gatherings with campers from ages 4 – Grade 6. Under the supervision of the Program Director, this position will help to create camp community and spirit (Ruach) through integrating new and creative songs into existing camp traditions and performance. This includes infusing music into weekly community Shabbat gatherings with our Camp Rabbi.
The position will run full-time from June 26 to August 18, 2023.
The J Camps Baltimore Team is seeking a dynamic individual to join our ropes course team to facilitate high ropes on the J Camps Adventure Park and low ropes team building elements using approved course methods. Training is provided and continued supervision by a Course Supervisor. This is an amazing opportunity to learn a new skill in an outdoor, fast paced, fun and engaging environment.
This is a fulltime position between June 26 – August 18, 2023. Ropes course and pre-camp training are also required.
The Nature Specialist will facilitate daily instruction to campers ages 4-12 in an outdoor environment primarily based in a wooded area. Most campers will participate in 1-2 nature sessions per week, depending on their age and their interests.

Habimah Arts Camp is a multi-disciplinary summer camp giving children in grades 1-6 a chance to work with master performing and visual arts teaching artists and professionals. The ideal teaching artist is prepared to be a role model within their field, has experience and loves teaching children of all ages, and has extensive experience in their art form. The ideal candidate would include someone who enjoys working with young people and/or theatre for young audiences. These positions also require teaching classes within their art form to campers. Looking for teaching artists in a variety of theatrical, visual, performance, and any similar fields.
Under the supervision of the Director of Youth Arts Education, our ideal candidate is prepared to be a role model to their team and campers alike, has a can-do demeanor, has experience and loves working with children, and has experience in or avid appreciation for the performing arts.
Selected counselors will be working with the director to help run rehearsals, review material with campers, work the backstage for the production, and any other duties assigned to them in relation to the show. This year’s production is Little Mermaid Jr.
The J Camps Baltimore Team is seeking a creative team-player to serve as the J Camps Videographer. This position will be responsible for capturing video footage of campers and staff throughout the camp day and using that footage to create J Camps Weekly Highlight videos. The position will run full-time from June 26- August 18, with additional pre-camp orientation time to be determined.
