J Camps, located at the JCC of Greater Baltimore, is looking for energetic, dedicated staff members who are interested in working in a fun, creative camp environment this summer. Our programming has a variety of focuses including aquatics, arts & culture, athletics, nature, science and more with a foundation of Judaism. In addition, our training includes child development workshops, skill sharing, and certification in Basic Water Safety and CPR. We hire on a rolling basis, and we offer excellent camper discounts for summer staff. While most of our positions are full-time, we do have a few that run for only select weeks.

The Camp Operations Lead will collaborate with the Senior Director of Operations to provide operational support to J Camps. This includes overseeing set up, modified scheduled days, communication with leadership and staff, and assisting with carpool. This position also involves providing logistical and setup support for special events. This position will play a key role in the set-up and clean-up of camp.

The Assistant Director of the Counselor in Training (CIT) program plays a vital role in supporting the growth and development of aspiring counselors. This role includes a combination of administrative duties, direct assistance to the CIT Director and CITs, and facilitating program activities. The Assistant is expected to demonstrate professionalism, strong organizational skills, and a commitment to fostering a positive and supportive learning environment.
Our camp cooking specialist will have the exciting role of bringing cooking to J Camps. They will create an 8-week cooking curriculum that will teach our campers new skills. The ideal candidate will be asked to have a strong understanding of camper food allergies and Kashrut (Kosher Policy).
The Science Specialist will facilitate daily instruction to campers ages 4-12 in an outdoor environment. Most campers will participate in 1-2 science sessions per week, depending on their age and their interests. Opportunity to use expert skills in a fun setting with wonderful staff perks!
The Nature Specialist will facilitate daily instruction to campers aged 4-12 in an outdoor environment primarily based in a wooded area. The ideal teaching artist is prepared to be a role model within their field, has experience and loves teaching children of all ages, and has extensive experience in their art form. The ideal candidate would include someone who enjoys working with young people and/or theatre for young audiences. These positions also require teaching classes within their art form to campers. Looking for teaching artists in a variety of theatrical, visual, performance, and any similar fields.
Under the supervision of the Director of Youth Arts Education, ideal candidates are prepared to be role models to their team and campers alike, have a can-do demeanor, has experience and loves working with children, and has experience in or avid appreciation for the performing arts. Those who wish to be selected to work alongside the artistic team must have experience in stage management or qualifying comparable experience.
Positions available in all J Camps. Work 1:1 or 1:2 with campers who have emotional, behavioral, and/or physical disabilities or support needs. Applicants must be at least 16 years old and entering their junior year of high school or beyond. We also welcome applications from adults and educators of all backgrounds.
